To clerify things, I will be hunting deer and hogs.
I've killed a few deer with this 30-30 setup out to around 100 yards so I have alot of confiedence that it will do the job. But I really love my 12ga. though it is a smoothbore, it will shoot a group the size of my fist at 75 yards with full sized rifled slugs. I've killed one deer with this setup and was very impressed with the knockdown power. I've also killed one with 2 3/4" 00 buckshot at around 50 yards and was equaly impressed when she dropped in her tracks with one shot to the neck. I still perfer slugs but I'm interested in 000 buckshot if any of you have some experience with it. What do you think about the winchester 170g silvertip bullets for the 30-30, I need a little more input to make an educated choice on this.
