Man my 2 favorite choices for deer, hmmmmmmmm, well if all your shots will be 75 yards or less I would go with the 12 gauge, a slug will knock a deer flat on its rear, the knock down power is great, however the 30-30 is also a deadly weapon on deer at that range.
