was it an off hand shot? if so anyone could have missed that.
heck I've seen people miss on a shooting rail...
hope she has better luck next time tho...also, it sounds like the deer might be dead...I've shot some that ran one hundred yards and not bleed a drop and still go down...even if they were hit in the lungs.
