Well I shoot a 33" patriot and a 31.5" tribute and my answer would be no. Not for me personally. In fact the only difference I feel is in the draw alone because of the different cam systems.

Now differences between the Allegiance and Tribute? that is something you should decide after a lengthy test session shooting them back to back with both set up the same. Same rest, same arrow, same draw length, same mod.
Had the Allegiance been lighter in 2006 I might have bought it over the Tribute.
Comparing ATA's is fine if they use the same cam, but in my case my 33" Pat and 31.5" Trib are close (within 1/2"?)to the same overall length due to thesize of the binary cams.

At the time I made the purchase I was hunting from the ground in brush blinds that sometimes included overhanging limbs- in that scenario every quarter inch seemed to count.
