I am interested in the possibilities bow hunting has to offer. The problem is I have a problem shoulder. I would hunt hogs, mule deer, and elk. My question is this. What is the lowest pound bow you feel could take down an elk. I realize there are several factors such as distance, arrow type etc. but I am courious if out to no more than 40 yards if a 45-50 pound bow could be set up to take down something as large as an elk or would I have to settle for no larger than deer.
