I agree with your first statement.....and I live in a state that allows baiting....and I keep a feeder up all year long (And I DO NOT hunt over it). THE reason I do.....is 2-fold. 1) I like to keep the deer at least frequenting the property I hunt. 2) We have a LOT of deer.....and quite honestly....I feel better knowing they get a little food from me.

Now....I dont hunt over the bait because it's TOO HARD. Baited deer are skittish deer (I watch them in the off-season). I don't have problems with deer being skittish when I hunt mast crops or when I'm catching them on their way out for the evening or in from the night out. I haven't taken a deer within 150 yds of bait in my life. Problem I have with the "baiting isn't hunting" high and mighty is......they think food plots don't equate to baiting. If my bait pile (hypothetically....i use a spread feeder) was an acre in size.....would that make it better?If your food plot was 10'x10'....would that be baiting? What's the difference? The difference is I don't care how you hunt....and I won't belittle it. Just hunt legally.
