I used a book from Ducks Unlimited with my last dog. It was written by the guy that owns Wild Rose Kennels. It was an easy read and work well on my lab and a buddies chessie. Sorry, I don't remember the name of the book but I'm thinking the author's name is Mike Stewart. I would get some program before the pup. It will give you a plan and that worth it's weight in gold.
