Default RE: Does the Cow Decoy really work?

It is not realy a Decoy , more like a blind .
And yes they work

This fall I did a sneak hunt several times on a pond in the middle of a cow pasture .
That was grazed down to almost nothing

No place to hide .
Tryed layout blinds and got 1 flock to come in , OK but not good .

So we tryed 1/4" plywood cows
We sat in the barn till several flocks landed in and around the pond .
Grabed the "Cows" and slowly walked up to 20 or so yds from the geese .
Droped the "cow" and shot the geese as they took off .
Worked several times , will do it again when Geese come back in .

Also out west we saw Snows out in a big wide open feild .
Could not figure out how to get close .
Every time the wind blew tumble weed blew acrost the feild .
The geese ignored the tumble weed

So we grabed several tumble weeds and our guns and ran at the geese using the tumble weed as a blind to cover our movement .
It didn't matter that we were running against the wind .

We were able to get into the flock before they spooked

If I remember right , we got 8 or 9 geese and a little work out
