I was one of the biggest supporters of the 710, even being the one who resurrected this thread which had been dead for nearly 6 months before I dug it up. Although I dont dissaprove of the gun, I cannot recommend it to anybody anymore. I ended up trading mine in after the final cleaning I gave it. My son shot a deer with it about 6 weeks ago and when I went to clean it I found a crack near the reciever where the clip slides in. Now this crack was not affecting performance any, and may not have ever became an issue but I was not about to take that chance. When the shop that I bought the gun from told me that they would give me 80% trade in on what I paid for the gun, I took them up on that and traded it in on a Marlin 1894 44 Magnum lever gun. The 710 performed flawlessly, shot my family 2 descent sized deer and may have worked flawlessly for years. But after all of the horror stories that I have read about, in this thread and others I decided to trade it in when I found that crack. I still believe that the gun is ok for a hunter on a tight budget, one that will mostly just sit and wait for a deer to come to them. But I really cannot recommend it anymore. Chantecler111, although I didnt agree with everything you said negetive about the gun, you are mostly right. It was fun arguing with you about it though lol.
I was right, and you actually agreed? And you had fun disagreeing? COOL!!!
