Default Come on ladies and gents need some advice.

OK ladies and gentlemen, I've been looking at the previous "what type of broadhead do you think I should get?" threads. I had some trouble with the Spitfire 100 grain's this year. A friend suggested Imight want think about goinga fixed blade broadhead nextseason,as they have less of a chance of malfunction. For the record, I have taken a nice nine pointer this year with the Spitfire, but, I had two of themnot extend fully on impactpriorto which resulted in under penetration andtwo long tracks in which I could have gone empty handed if I had given up after searching forroughly9 long hours on one track and the following morningon the other.

From what I haveread, it seems as if themajority is split between SlickTricks and Montecs. One of my comrades swears by Montecs, but, he has not taken a deer yet this year, however, it is notfrom alack of hunting. Just haven't eyewitnessed the damage or lack there offrom one of his Montecs. I'd really appreciate some opnions from the seasoned hunters who have used either or and, if possible, some reasons why.

Also if it matters, I am planning on switching from an aluminum arrow to the carbon arrow next season if that makes a difference in broadhead selection. Just trying to get ahead of the game for next season seeing how the sales on archery equipmentare abundant this time of year. I apologize for the long-windedness........I just like to give the details up front.

Thanks,
VA
