If i'm shooting a gun, I put it right on the shoulders and the 8 deer I've killed like this anchored in their tracks. With a bow never in the shoulders, just behind like normal. I would NEVER EVER EVER take a neck shot. THAT'S MY OPINION THOUGH! I wouldn't because I think it's a low percentage shot IMO. I have just seen too many deer lost on neck shots.
