Hia, that would make for easy tag filling for the up coming late cow draw!!! Hopefully they won't get slaughtered, personally think the late season should be removed for such a reason. If they want cows taken go back to an eitherin the second weekand drop the anterless only draw. Guys still like bone so I doubt they would get over harvested and the amount of posted land around these elk means some safety percautions, provided they are adhered too! In our area we have way to many cows and the discussion has already begun about archery or possible even just do the draw next year. I'm more for the archery b/c the calling is what gets me a goin'.
Thanks and a passed on your wishes but she said who the he,, is dan in chelan..lol

!
JPF, thank you for your input on cameras. I used to have 35mm camtrakkers and if I do get a couple it will be digital only. I don't want crap but I also don't want to pay the price that camtrakker is asking for a digital either. I'll have to do some research and watch ebay.
JD, if you like deer meat and have the opportunity for doe tags either via draw or over the counter why not get on that train. It is an excellent way to fill the freezer while not worry about burning your either - sex tag reserved for a buck, helps confidence in putting the arrow or bullet in the x ring and good management. We love venison so I have beening doing it for awhile and will continue too.
The smokepole area is a joint effort between myself and partner. We either own or lease the lands we hunt, allowing us to post it. The area see's a fair bit of raod hunting traffic as it is only a few miles fromthe city - 15 mins from my step. We hay the land for cash(helps with land bills)and partners cows. My partner has a boy but he doesn't hunt much, so may accompany dad a few times each fall. Our hunting partner and son(the 13yr old I mentioned) also can hunt there, he doesn't hunt their a ton but when he does he asks to find out if its ok and other rules like who not to shoot! We manage it like a hunt club I guess, but have no control over who comes and goes interms of deer, so even if I let the 5x walk no gaurantee he'll make it to next year! Though that doesn't really concern me I do the same elsewhere just the personal stage I am in now.
JD, as far as connecting on a big buck you can't if you don't have a tag! You sound like me luck is by effort so be patient and enjoy the ride along the way! Not everyone has HIA's mojo

!!!LOL
