You want to use rifled slugs or buck shot in a smooth bore. It is best to try shooting some slugs using different chokes to see which are the most consistant and impact closest to the point of aim. With the rifled slugs, the most commonly used chokes would be cylinder or improved cylinder, although I have a few friends that find the modified is the best with their particular gun.
