Default RE: 2006 Canadian Whitetails - Get' em!

ag, no respect needed mo frair. One of my main concerns is maturity, the rack size is important but when it comes to field judging a buck I look at the rack and age features equally. I have let many 150 class 3 1/2- 41/2 year olds walk in lieu for amature lower scoring rack. Why b/c that is what stage I am at now. Been through a few but asI mentioned way back when in response to Hia's marginal buck fonder I don't expect to kill a gagerevery year as my luck don't run that way but have no problems filling the gaps with mature bucks that the best days are behind them or they just never had the genes to be gager material. In this particular case or situation this buck has a boat load of potential and does far more good to the future living and breeding then hanging in my garage. Would i should the hansen buck even though he hadn't reached his full potential well lets just say even I ain't that stupid.Though hebeing the rare exception to this rule. It is all about personal objectives not about keeping with the jones and for me it is saying I shot a mature buck or I passed a up and comer.

As far as the hoss, not much of kiss and tell type. Though we all pretty tight here sowill say he's my 6 from last year but this year he sprouted a pair of split brows to go along with his 6x6frame. I estimate him to be a 5 1/2 year old deer as we speak so next year he should still be prime if he survives or stays close by. BOONIE fo sho.

BTWI am seriously considering recanting on my ban of game cameras! I think in the spot a few digital game cameras might be very useful. Any thoughts on the cuddyback or others? Don't wantr to spend the money for Camtrakker if i don't need too.

As far as to mount or not, that is entirely up to you. I see nothing wrong with mounting any animal. IfI didn't merry miss "no dead things on my walls staring at me"I would have more myself. I am going to really try and get her that bear rug next year maybe that will break the hump!!!!

Hia, eye's, perch, pike and burbot through the ice are ALL GOOOOOD. Frozen pond dangling, yote trumping, smoking (jerky, etcnot dubbie's)and looking for horns are what I plan to keep the no hunting blues at bay this winter.
