Default RE: 7mm WSM

To Ridge Runner: I agree with what you are saying. However you are not FL resizing the case. All I do is fireform the case, and then neck size. You may be bumping back the shoulder slightly, but you are definitely not sizing the entire case. And the argument for FL sizing is to be able to chamber the casing with ease, the same way factory shells chamber. And you even said it yourself, "the bolt will go down with just a lil resistance".

It has been my experience with the 300 Win Mag that body sizing is necessary for feeding of hot loaded cases, This would bump back the shoulder, and hence return the headspace to the belt. This goes back to my original comment that the 300 Win Mag headspaces on the belt-which I believe is how the manufacturer wished it to be.

I like the way you described doing it, and I am going to try it. It sounds like a good idea to me. If I am reading you right you are saying bump the neck up one size, then slowly bring it back to size-thanks for the idea. I will try it. I shoot my 300 WSM single shotonly-so a tacky bolt would not hurt a thing. Tom.
