To longrifle1000: Are you sure about the headspace on the 300 Win Mag. I thought for sure all the Wby's headspaced off the belt. And if you bumped down the shoulder on the Win Mag, then how would it headspace off the shoulder? The belt would stop it? I do not consider myself an expert. And I do not mind being corrected when wrong. But I can not understand how a belted cartridge could headspace off the shoulder? Bumping the shoulder could then cause case splitting, and excessive pressure if the gap is too large?

I do not mean this as an argument. And I hope we can keep the discussion civil. But please show me where I am wrong. I do like to learn new things. Tom.
