Well, I was determined to get one of the last model 70's in 27 WSM and there just werent any left. But, I did review the 7mm WSM and decided that it would do. The funny thing is that on paper it doesnt seem to do anyhting the old 7mm rem mag didnt do. Just got it last night so I am looking forward to shooting it! Anyone shot one of these or had any experiences with them?
Took one deer with mine and it dropped her in her tracks at 60yrds maybe.I was useing ballistic tips xp. 130gr. These shells did alot of damage to that dear. It went in the size of a quarter and came out the neck the size of a baseball all most.She was quartering away from me to boot. After thinking about it,I think it's about over kill for deer that I rarely see more than 200yrds away. One deer is all I got so far,but thats my thoughts on it after one.On paper I don't think you will see the difference until you start going for longer yardage.But I am sure some where here could answer your question better.
