It took him something like 10 days to get set up for a shot on, what I believe was his second trip after one. The equipment was as best as I can recall: stock Emax, double walled arrow w/ 125 gr two blade Magnus B-head, total weight 900 gr, about 250 fps and the same in k.e.
There have been several elephants killed by arrows over the years by various archers, but I believe this was the first by xbow. The shot was approx 20 yds and would have been a complete pass-thru except arrow lodged in off side leg bone. Forgot to add, the natives carved about 4000 lbs of meat off of it, so would guesstimate it went about 9000 or so on the hoof.
