I dont know if you have pawn shops up in Canada (I am sure that you do) but I would check there, you should be able to get a good gun in stainless and synthetic for under $500 and still be able to put a descent scope on it. Otherwise for $500 Canadian you are going to probably have to settle for something synthetic and blued in Stevens, Mossberg or Remington package deals. None of them are bad guns, but the Remington 710 does have a bad rap on these forums. The Stevens probably is the better deal out of the 3 though.
