Well after my second season of bow hunting I finally got one. I have photos and will post them soon. Here's the story;
After requesting some advice a couple of days I took the advice that was given and moved my stand. I moved it this morning, which took until 1:30 p.m. I didnt know wether I should hunt it that evening but I took a chance. I went and got a coffee and returned getting into the stand at 2:55 pm. At 3:15 I looked to the other side of the corn field and see a buck running right towards me. I barely had time to grab my bow and pull back. As the buck entered the second field (where I was) he was still at a dead run. When he got close enough I grunted and he stopped. I let go, the buck jumped straight in the air and took off. I noticed that he appeared to be limping and I thought the worst "a bad shot". I followed him to the far side of the field as he started up the hill. He stopped at the top of the hill and looked back. I grabbed my binnos and he was gone. I climbed done and walked over to where I shot him and there was a little bit of blood, I then went to my vehicle and waited for an hour and returned to where I had shot, to look around. I found about 6 inches of the top of my arrow covered in blood. I started up the hill and approx 10 yards before the top there he was right where I lost sight of him. He is a 7 point with a broken beam. He is not a trophy but he is to me....my first with a bow!! I want to thank those who took the time to give a rookie like me some advice.
