RE: Slug questions
I'm actually not that recoil sensitive. I don't really think most slugs kick that hard. I might flinch now and then if I shoot alot, but I usually catch myself before I actually fire the round ( I don't have a hair trigger). I don't seem to have that problem at all when hunting, I don't even think about it.
I also have a H&R Ultra with the heavy barrel in 12 ga, so it's pretty heavy, like 11 or twelve pounds, so it doesn't kick that bad anyway.
You are correct though, dry firing is an excellent way to improve you shooting technique and help get rid of jerking the trigger.
