Default RE: Big game rifle

I've been hunting as an adult for 22 years. And in that time I have owned just two "big game" rifles. First was a Savage in 7mm Mag, and the one I use now, Ruger M77 Mark II in .300 Win Mag.

I haven't owned a lot of rifles, cause I haven't had to! This Ruger has been the most accurate, dependable, and versitile rifle I could immagine.
I want to own other rifles (Thompson Center encore with 2 or 3 barrels) but have no need to with the Ruger. I also went with the Nikon Monarch 3 - 9 scope. Extremely pleased with this outfit. I use it for everything from Antelope to Moose or Buffalo (If I ever draw a tag!) One gun, but use a variety of rounds depending on the game I'm going after. If you load yourself (I don't), you know how many different bullets are available in that caliber. Like the Speer Trophy Bonded Bear claws come from 55 to 500 grain!

You've opened up a bee hive asking this question. Good luck with your search.
