The .338 Win mag only has a 100 yard advantage in velocity. The .338 Federal and the .338 Win mag have essentially the same velocity with the 210 grain partition
The 338 Fed. and 338 WM do not run the 210 Gr. Partition at the same velocity!!!!! The 338 Fed. pushes that bullet at about 2650, while the .338 Win Mag can push at over 3000. The .338WM has quite a bit of an advantage over the .338 Fed., but like you said Whoopty Friggin' Doo.
