Wow people have nerve!!
Every year we all hear stories about stupid people doing stupid things while there's an army of hunters in the woods. Well, here's a couple more.
Rant #1:
On opening morning of rifle just after sun-up my son's friend heard something larger than a squirrel walking through the woods, down a doe trail. Turns out to be a guy in plain clothes, no weapon, taking a liesurely stroll through the November Michigan woods. This was on state land. Sure he had every right to be there as all the hunters did, but why would you pull something like that? Death wish?
Rant #2:
I hunt a small section of woods behind my house that is part of a larger tract of land consisting of large fields and woods. After a week and a half of gun season with guys driving into the fields from the sub access point, shooting, hauling deer out, etc., you'd think by then people would be well aware it was gun season. Saturday night while in the stand at 5:15pm (you know, the last 15 minutes of prime time), I hear a four wheeler pulling into the field. What happened next blew my mind. This person was pulling a cart full of small kids - the age that their screams are louder than imaginable. This idiot pulled these kids around the entire perimeter of the open field (some 100+ acres) while the kids screamed and screached. No yelling, just flat out max volumes of schrilling blood curtling screams. Why?
I was going to get out of my stand and confront this person, but the property is not mine so I had little to say about it.
In either case, what do you do? Tell the nuts to take hat and get lost, or suck it up and hunt another day? I think I know the answer, but it was extremely frustrating to say the least.
