The larger distributor's of Remington firearms can order special runs of a rifle made to their specs. I have the same rifle you have but mine is in 257 Roberts. On the box the rifle came in it is called a model 700 Classic Stainless. If you go to the Remington website they have a section for special run firearms. They also list their email and customer service number. Looking in the Blue Book of Gun Values they sometimes list some of these special runs and sometimes make no mention.
