Herters was a great company from the the late 50sto theearly 80s, I believe. I have two recurves and still use them. I love it. I bought my second this year on ebay and it shoots very well. You should have a good bow. The only thing you might have to do is refinish it. Both my bows needed to be shot with laquire agian, which is not heard. I striped them and used spray laquir to refinish them. They came out great.
