Also, ammo for the .300 WSM is more expensive and harder to find.
The ammo may be costly but so is 300 Win Mag and 300 Wby Mag. Every WalMart that I have been to in Texas and Oklahoma carries it. Also in Texas, Academy Sporting Goods stores carry several varieties of 300 WSM ammo. Hard to find? I don't think so.
If you have a 300 wby that you like, I don't see any reason to change. If can kill deer in Alaska, then you can sure kill deer in Texas.
.300 Win Mag ammo in my neck of the woods is 15$, while standard caliber ammo is 10$.
