Default RE: has anyone every got anything good stalking?

I haven't stalked a deer, although I may try it if the conditions are right (steady wind direction and wet ground) in late archery season. I have had some close calls hunting from behind a fallen tree (using it as a blind). I had a turkey get within 5 or 6 yards of me, but I couldn’t get a shot because of branches in the way. I also had a nice 6 point buck with a very big body, nice antler mass and spread get within 15 yards of me when I was on the ground behind a fallen tree. I was actually watching a doe whom I had heard walking about 30 yards off, when I see this big boy walking at half the distance (I never heard him; he moved like a ghost). I had to turn 180 degrees to get a shot. At the rate he was moving I thought the minimum risk was to turn and draw simultaneously. When I did, a leaf rustled under my foot and he turned to look at me when I was half drawn. He ran off, but I’ve seen him again since then and I think I know where he beds. I may stalk hunt him there, if the conditions are right.

Before I do this, I’d like to find out if anyone knows if deer will move their beds a significant distance if they’re spooked out of their beds by a stalk hunter?
