I was bow hunting in VA and I had a spike buck come in on the last day I could hunt so I figured I would take him. I had a quartering away shot at about 25yrds. As soon as I released the arrow the deer spun around and ran back the way it came. It dropped about 50 yrds from my tree. When I walked up to the deer I couldn't believe it. My arrow was sticking out of the wrong side of the deer. I guess when he heard the noise of my bow he spun around 180 degrees before my arrow hit him. The arrow entered just behind the front shoulder and was sticking out just in front of the hind quarter. I have seen this happen on hunting shows but never in real life.
