Default RE: New Remington 710 rifle

Here you go. This is a group I got from my 710 using Federal Premium 150gr Sierra GameKing BTSP ammo. The other holes at the top of the paper are from using other ammo (Remington Core-lokt and Managed Recoil). The reason this group is not centered is because I was running out of daylight and didn't have time to reshoot after tweaking the scope the final time. (I wanted it to shoot a tad high @ 100 yards, so I just dialed it over a few clicks to the right.)

So, what's your estimate of this group? They're all within a 1 square inch block on the target @ 100 yards. In a practical, real-world hunting situation, what difference will a 3/4" rifle make over my 710? None, nada, zip. Since something like 75%+ of all deer are shot at less than 100 yards in the Eastern and Southern US, then a Savage that shoots 1/4" better groups than my 710 is a negligible difference.

I've got an idea. Maybe someone should print up some of those stickers that the "sophisticated" truck owners have. You know, the ones with the little brat peeing on the Ford/Chevy/Dodge symbol. You can just replace it with a 710.

Hurrah for elgallo for being a voice of reason in all this. As he said, I got what I paid for and it's just fine. Strangely, noone ever says WHY the Savage is "so much better", only that it is. If it's only based on the accuracy, then there's no practical difference. Go with what you like.
