RE: is the 270 a elk whacker?
Too many that only shoot off sandbags!At least they go out and shoot their rifles .Far too many people never bother to practise at all.I have seen many people show up at the range once a year and fire two or three shots in the general vicinity of the target then declare their gun sighted in and go hunting.Those type of people consider good shot placement just hitting an elk.They don't have the skills to shoot accurately at 100 yards yet they don't hesitate to start throwing lead at 400 yards.For these people it doesn't matter what cartridge they use as they usually don't hit anything anyways.
