RE: is the 270 a elk whacker?
I'm sayin' placement is a misnomer. Ain't accurate. You cain't allays thread the needle ahind the shoulder an' into a guaranteed knockdown organ. Elkampmaster is tellin' it true. You aim at an' elk 99% of the time. You don't plan yer hunt around the other 1% when a needle-threadin' shot is possible (even less often fer newbies). All this placement stuff jus' don't ring true when you've seed as many wapiti go down an' run off as I've seed. A man needs to aim fer the center of the largest kill zone presented, learn how to shoot from real field positions, an' make it all automatic. Hell, I don't even remember shoulderin' my rifle most the time I kill anythin'. Ain't nuthin' bout what I said contrary to one shot kills. An' Turd, believe me, you DON'T wanna be 'round me ever.
