What's the best brand when it comes to rifle scopes? Im looking for a 3-9X40 scope to put on my .30-30. Or does the .30-30 not need that kind of scope. Any suggestions?
The "best" scopes are Schmidt and Bender's. Period. But I don't think thats what you mean.
I wouldn't put a 3-9x40 on a 30/30.
To each his own, but its too much for a 100 yard rifle, which, lets be frank, is really what a 30/30 is meant for.
I have a Leupold Euro 1-4x20mm on my win 94 in 30/30 AI.
I taken deer out to 180 yards with it. High power is highly over-rated. The scope I have goes for about $300.
Not bad for a 100 yard rifle.
