On windy days,get down in the bottoms of the ravines or valleys or creeks.The birds will most likely be down there because they can hear better out of the wind and they can see better as the branches and leaves and grasses wont be moving as much.Light rain doesn't seem to bother them at all,but in heavy rain they will get into the heavier cover.
