sorry bud but a 243 could easily cause this type of damage on the exit side. I don't know what you have been looking at but this is not abnormal for any round if it hits bone. I've seen 30-30s do alot more damage than this.
I'm sure you have in your 5 years of hunting and shooting. But the supposed shot was at 200 yards. And yes I have seen plenty of rounds hit the bone and do less damage than that, and were we talking about the 30-30? no, the 30-30 shoots a heavier bullet, and yes I have seen a 30-30 do similar damage as well.
