RE: help
i know your plight all too well as i suffer from raynauds disease... which is a case of poor circulation to the hands and feet... after a few hours i've always had to get up and still hunt unless it was a "warm" day... #1 DO NOT let yourself "sweat" up on the way to the stand (if you walk in)... #2 get yourself a pair of perspiration wisking socks.. put them on.. then put on 1 pair of insulating socks followed by your boots... this will draw the moisture off of your feet... wet skin is a much better heat transfer medium than dry skin #3 good boots... the best i have found, and there may be better out there now are Rocky snow stalker extreme 1200's... never have my feet been as warm and comfortable as in these... #4 don't over tighten the laces of boots.. if you have to, loosen lightly when on stand but don't leave unlaced.. over tightening essentially cuts blood flow.... #5 keep your head warm.. heat rises and the majority of the heat your body loses is through your head.... #6 eat something... #7 they have these booty things that go over your boots or feet when on stand.. kinda like a sleeping bag for your toes.. never tried em donno if they work. #8 for your hands... well, the only thing that works for me are the hand muffs... the lil insulated sleeping bag that has a waist strap... you can put handwarmers in the pocket or inside of them and put your hands in there... gloves alone are a futile attempt to keep warm for me... this is all iv'e found to work for my paws... #9 an army surplus wool blanket tossed over your legs can work wonders.. i was amazed... #10 charcoal foot and hand warmers... work good for my hands but never have enjoyed them for my feet...
it's taken me 19 years but i can now sit all day if i want to without getting cold on a sub freezing day... and i'm one of those people that get cold feet and hands just lying on the couch at home... what used to be miserable and dreading (i pushed myself because i love it) is now very enjoyable...
good luck... let us know how you make out...
