Well last night I capped off a great bowseason. Oct 7 I took a nice doe. Oct 27 I got the big one in Illinois, and last night I shot this buck to use my last tag and fill out the freezer. He's no monster, but I was meat hunting and I would have shot just about anything since gun season starts tomorrow. I'm just as happy with this one as I am with the bigger one I got earlier this year. My wife is even happier ("Thank God this crap is OVER!" was her remark LOL!)

I saw him enter the cut soybean field all alone at about 5:30 last night. He was about 120 yards away and the wind was perfect. Once he calmed down and started eating, I grunted at him four or five times to get his attention. He paused, turned, and came running into the finger of timber I had set up in. He walked 15 yards broadside and stopped when I was at full draw. It was perfect. He only went 40 yards. Double lunged him and I saw him stand still for a minute, and then tip over dead on his feet.
