Default RE: cleaning an encore, new to ML

tlsmith,

This topic has been recently covered numerous times, so I would suggestspending a few moments reading through the threads.

OK - I swab between shots with a damp patch of 50:50 isopropyl alcohol and windshield washer flund. Run the patch down with the loading jag, turn it over and repeat. One dry patch and reload. I do this every time I shoot a shot whether it is at the range or when hunting.

Thorough cleanings follow extended shooting sessions or when I don't anticipate shooting again for a few days. I disassemble the stock from my T/C Omega, remove the breech plug, and thoroughly clean the bore with WWF or, if it's really dirty, Birchwood-Casey Gun Scrubber. I thoroughly clean the breech plug and threads. Make sure that breech plug hole is completely clean by poking it out with a needle or nipple pic. I then blow all the solvent/cleaner out of the breech plug using compressed air. Protect the bore from rust using Birchwood-Casey Sheath, wipe the exterior with Sheath, and your good.

Dont' forget to relub the breechplug to keep it from sticking. I use the Slick-50 One Grease for this.
