RE: Browning pump guns
I have owned a BPS 3" for about 8 years, and love it. It kicks about the same as any other 12ga 3" pump. Shoot a heavy load and get lots of recoil. From a fit and finish point of view, it has the nicest bluing and stock finish of just about any gun I have seen (within a reasonable price range). I have the stock 28" vent rib barrel as well as a Hastings rifled slug barrel, with a cantilever mount so the gun gets double duty for birds as well as deer.
The only down side to it, if you can even call it that, is that the BPS is not as common as say a Rem 870 or a Mossburg 500 so aftermarket parts are not quite as easy to come by. That being said, I have been able to find every part I have looked for up to this point.
The only other issue is that the magazine capacity is 1 shot less than an 870 or a Model 500. Although most of the time I am required to have the plug in the magazine so it is a mute point.
