I will have to agree with Atlas on the deer scenting us. When a deer scents a human liking hitting a brick wall. They do not stomp or blow, they run away, because they know what you are.
When a deer stomps and blows at you, becasue he see you, but is not sure what you are.
I was blown at on my boat this year early morning, deercould see me, but wind was in my favor. The deer blow at me all the way up the river.
On a side note fooling a young deeris not to hard, my youth hunter banged his release off his bow and still shot a little buck. Two days later he had a mature doe walking towards him, he made a slight noise, and she took off. He looked at me and wondered why, I said she knows things.
Hunting a mature deer I would never setup wrong wind. Not saying it can not be done, just not going to chance it.
