Now I am confused!!!!
i hear ya man! like i said, this one spot i hunt, the deer rub tons of trees right up thru late archery....yet i could sit there, surrounded by 80 ripped up trees, from sunup to sundown and NEVER SEE A THING!
it drove me nuts for a few seasons, now i hunt a funnel that leads to the "core" bedding area, and my deer sightings went way up...i mean, its only 300 yds from the majority of the rubs, but it makes a BIG difference when the sun is dropping.
so yeah, hunt the rubs, it means a buck is NEAR,,, just don't hang a stand over a rub and stare at it hoping a buck is gonna show up, you know?
just my opinion,
good luck
