RE: optima problem
Sounds like you have the black receiver as I do. I get a little surface rust after just punching the bore if you leave the receiver on while cleaning. I started using this BULLFROG oil rust prevention and it seems to work.
Remove the receiver and soak it down with a break free style oil or WD40 and work the hammer and trigger many times until it is loose and let it sit for a few hours. Then clean it all out and use compressed air if you have it because it will get oil in all the cracks and work out any excess oil.
And if that doesn’t work take it back to where you bought it and have them fix or replace it. CVA will be helpful I’m sure but you may lose you gun for a time to replace it.
