Default Gettin it done in NY and PA...........pics of the trip so far!!

So I left last Friday for several days in NY and PA with intentions of heading home on Sunday 11/12. APAJaws and I headed to his property in Oneonta, NY on Friday and stayed until Sunday night. Saturday morning I was given an opportunity on a great 2.5 year doe and managed to take the shot and make it count. 1 down, meat in the freezer. [8D]

Sunday evening we packed the car up to stay at my place in Bradford County, PA. I was excited as I had several new unhunted stands in some good cover that all had excellent sign. Scrape lines opened up around the 2 heaviest and most used pieces of bedding cover on the property so I knew our timing was right. This morning I was able to see a decent buck come in to about 30 yards, and then he started heading away from me. I grunted at him to see if he would turn, and sure enough he came in on a bee line to me. On the way, he stopped to thrash a tree, and scrape in one of the scrapes. His hair was standing up on his back when I shot him and he was doing the old stiff legged PO'd walk. It was a great show. He isn't the buck I was hoping to tag this season off the property, but he is an OK buck for this area. After I shot him, a solid 130" buck ran a doe in front of me while I was gutting him............oh well next year. He will taste delicious I am sure.

APAJaws (Dan) managed to shoot a big old doe this morning as well at my place. We managed our first ever double header.

We will leave my place in PA Thurs probably to head back up to NY for a few days because I still have one more buck tag for up there and Dan has doe tags, hopefully I will get a crack at one of the big ones Dan has up there and hopefully he gets one of the bigger ones down here before we head back up north. He watched 5 different bucks this morning alone all chasing including one nice rack buck that was too far away.
