Default RE: Remington XCR?

Awesome gun.

I got the Rocky Mtn Elk Foundation limited edition one in 300 WSM. It is a camo stock and engraved floorplate. Paid $899 for it from CABELAS. It is a 700, which is known to be a great gun. I did have a trigger job to lower the pull weight. Had a problem with a Nikon scope on it that cost me a lot of $ in ammo to figure it out....but got a new one which took care of it.

I wouldn't classify the XCR as just an "elk" gun. It comes in a variety of calibers. The recoil pad is great....it kicks about like my 30-06 does because of the nice pad. It doesn't have a "noisy" stock either like a lot of synthetics (rubbing branches, etc.). It has a "Trinyte" (I think is the name) coating that makes it super durable & resistant to corrosion. Figured I would go ahead & invest in (that's expensive for me)something that would last me as an all-around deer & elk gun.
