Suggested retail might be over $1000, but the actual selling prices are considerably cheaper. I am looking at getting a 700 XCR as well, and they seem to run $731 to $769 in the stores.

A friend of mine just bought one in .338 RUM. I like the new stock and the Limbsaver recoil pad Remington is using for the XCR. The finish is supposed to be all but immune to corrosion, but I think it's too soon to tell.

In the meantime, make mine a .375 H&H, please.
