RE: kisser button?
Although I have never used a kisser button on my personal bow I have tried it on plenty of my samples when I was a sales rep. I found then that I was able to hold 3" groups at 30 yards. This I would consider plenty accurate enough for most hunting situations. Actually, because my form is very consistent I can hold 3" groups at 30 yards with nothing on the string at all, relying purely on my anchor points. So I ask myself, "Why don't I shoot this way for hunting?" Old habits die hard and I need all the help that can be mustered. I also found that even with my old eyes if I can't see through a 1/4" peep then it's just too dark to be shooting in the first place.
So "yes" it can be done. You must have pretty consistent form for this. That means lots of practice before hunting season to familiarize yourself with the feel of it.
I think any accomplished shooter or one that shoots a lot of target or 3D year round would have an easier transition because their form is what it is and they have a very good idea of what the bow should feel like whether there is a peep in the string or not.
