Lets say a pack of wolves or coyotes start running the deer off your land while you are hunding. Would you shoot the coyotes or wolves
I am not partial on way or another. Your land, you have the right to do what you want I guess. I don't think you can compare coyotes and wolves to dogsthough. I know in Indiana we have a season forcoyotes (wedon't have hardley any wolves), so shooting a coyote that might be chasing a deer is a lot different than shooting someones dog. I am not saying your wrong if you do, I agree with a lot of peoples post about thetime, money and effort put forth towards deer hunting. I also would HOPE that a person would first find out who's dog it might be and tell themwhat is going onand tryto solve the problem that way.
I have hunted with guys that have shot dogs during a hunt, mainly because the dogs spotted them and werebarking and growling at them. I also have had the neighbors dog shot on the land I hunt (not by me, some tresspasser) and it caused a pretty big stirr. CO was out on the land about three times a week trying to catch theguy who did it. Didn't help that thedog belonged to theCheif of Police. You never know who's dog you might beshooting andyou better make sure it's onthe land you own. If you do know who's dog your shooting, maybe you should tell that person what the dog is doing and next time you won't pass up the chance to solve the problem yourself.
