i personally like the new MZ's better for whitetail, i love shooting blackpowder and the smell after the shot, still a far stratch from the olden times with the new ones but i also think you can getter better range and accuracy from them, but you only got one shot, if thats a problem then a shotgun might suit you better, whichever you feel comfortable with and feel like you can have confidence with, good luck,
