RE: 2006 Canadian Whitetails - Get' em!
Skeeter,
The majority of bucks here are still holding tight during daylight hours. Traditionally the majority of our does come into estrus after the 15th of November. From the 20th on into the first week fo Dec lies our most heated breeding activity. Right now scrapes are being worked a lot at night.
The two big boys I am bowhunting are not move until almost right at dark, I have inched my way very close to both bedding areas. I need to put an arrow in one pretty soon before they take off on their long ranged rutting forays. Rifle season is open right now so that pressure has also added to their lack of movement. Deer densities are not really heavy here so the big breeder bucks cover some ground. Give this area another week and some cooler weather and critters will start moving much more during daylight hours.
Good luck to you guys on your big bruisers up north I'll be hard after a couple good mature representatives of Northern Idaho. Hope to have a picture or two for you this month or by the end of Dec.
