ORIGINAL: stubblejumper

I use barnes cr-10 and sweets 7.62 to remove copper. Both are more aggressive than the birchwood casey product, and neither has caused any damage to any of my barrels.
Ditto.

Ammonia can damage a barrel if left for extended periods but if you run a few dry patchs then followa saturated patch with light gun oil you'll be good. I use a for caliber jag and bore brush(when required). Stoney point bore guide and dewey coated 1 piece rod.

Forgot to mention if/when planning on firing/using the rifle make sure to run a dry patch down the bore to remove any excess oil.
